Questions about SME Environment

•  My company is established in one of the candidate countries. Can I take part in the project?

Yes. The participation is opened for small and medium sized enterprises based in New Member States and Candidate Countries that are active in the fields of energy and environment.

•  How can companies from third countries take part in the project?

They can benefit from all services that are open for all organisations - online consultancy, forum, partner search, ect.

•  Which are the advantages of registration?

In the SME Database you can search for partners for your projects and also other SMEs can find you to develop projectssuitable for your profile.

•  My company is established in several different countries. If one of them is eligible for taking part in the project is enough for participating?

Yes, it is enough.

•  Is the registration for being present in your database free of charge?

Yes.

•  Can I use the SME Database searching partners without registration?

Yes, you can search in the database without registration.

•  How can I take part in the e-Learning course? Is it free of charge?

The eLearning course is free of charge. After a registration (available under the title of Registration), a username and a password will be sent to you that you can enter the courses with.

•  How can I find help if I can't manage my project, and I don't even find the solution in the on-line Guide?

Write us a letter in the on-line consultation section. We will try to help you to solve any problem.

•  Can you offer personal advices?

If you need peresonal consultancy you can contutct us through our website ( Consultation) or send your question to the info@sme-environment.org and our experts are going to send the answer as soon as possible.

•  How can I find partners for my project?

You can search for partners in the SME Database, or you can upload your profile to be searched by other organisations.

 

General questions

•  Which companies are included into the definition of SMEs?

Medium-sized enterprises have less than 250 employees. Their annual turnover should not exceed 50 million or their annual balance-sheet total should be less than 43 million.

Small enterprises have between 10 and 49 employees. They should have an annual turnover not exceeding 10 million or an annual balance-sheet total not exceeding 10 million.

•  When will FP7's projects be opened?

The first calls for FP7 are expected to be published at the beginning of 2007. The launch event of the whole programme will be held in Brussels in March, 2007.

•  How can I find the newest calls for proposal?

The open calls from the 6th and 7th Framework Progamme are available on our site ( FP6/FP7 Open Calls ) or on the offcial website of the Programmes.

•  How can I find out if my company and its activity is eligible for Community Programmes?

Generally saying, all companies are eligible for Community Programmes activities.

•  How can I find basic and practical information about European Union policies'?

The Activities of the European Union pages act as a gateway to all aspects of the EU's policies and areas of activity.
